HURRICANE – Former Hurricane resident and inventor Bob Maehre created a Kicstarter project to fund his invention designed to help children with their toilet hygience habits.
Having kids in the home usually means repeated reminders to flush the toilet and wash hands when they finish. And with boys in the mix, there’s the additional hassle of making sure the seat gets put back down.
Now there’s help for training the family in bathroom etiquette. Potty Tutor™ is a 2-inch-long motion-activated device that speaks when the seat is lifted, advising users to “lower the seat, flush the toilet, and wash your hands.” Its nanny-like voice even demonstrates courtesy, including please and thank you in its request.
No tools are required to install Potty Tutor™ which easily attaches to the underside of the lid or seat.
The gadget retails for $10.
“With its included button battery, Potty Tutor™ will give its reminder about 2,000 times,” Maehre said, “but your family should be trained by then!”
