ST. GEORGE — A motorcyclist was transported to the hospital following a collision with a vehicle at the corner of George Washington Boulevard and South River Road in St. George on Saturday.

The incident involved a purple and white MT-07 Yamaha motorcycle and a dark grey Nissan Rogue Sport SL.
The motorcyclist was transported to St. George Regional Hospital, while the driver of the SUV remained on the scene.
St. George Police Department Officer Norman told St. George News the SUV was traveling southbound on River Road just before 3 p.m. The motorcycle was allegedly turning west onto George Washington Boulevard when the two collided.
It is uncertain whether the woman driving the SUV ran the light or if the man on the motorcycle failed to yield, Norman said.
No citations have been issued and the case remains under investigation as police gather additional witness interviews.

Responders from Gold Cross Ambulance and the St. George Fire Department arrived at the scene, followed by Personal Touch Towing to tow the disabled vehicle. St. George Police Department provided traffic control at the scene.
Firefighters could be seen pouring a sand mixture in the Popeyes fast food drive-thru to soak up fluids spilled from the vehicles onto the concrete due to the collision.
The Popeyes drive-thru was temporarily closed during the cleanup operation but has since reopened.
