ST. GEORGE — Over the past 13 years, the Pine View High School community has held a fundraiser for local children facing health challenges.
This year, a local car wash company is offering additional perks to the dinner and a show put on the high school band. Senior Jaxan Davis told St. George News that this year’s “Mr. Pine View” recipient is Riverside Elementary student Flynn Cox.
“Flynn is a little boy that has Duchenne muscular dystrophy,” Davis said. “This illness causes the muscles to waste away and currently, there is no cure. We are hoping to raise funds to help them ease the cost of medical bills. It’s one of my favorite things about Pine View.”
For the fundraiser, the Pine View High band holds an annual dinner and a show where guests are served dinner, students perform acts and a raffle drawing is held for numerous items donated by community businesses.

- When: March 1, 6 p.m.
- Where: Pine View High School commons area
- Cost: Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 8 and under. Attendees can purchase tickets in advance by going the Pine View High School website and scan the QR code.
“Make sure to put dinner and show in the memo box,” Davis noted.
Also on Friday, a local car wash is donating a portion of the day’s proceeds to the Cox family in support of the Mr. Pine View fundraiser.
According to a media release, a special event will take place at Tagg-N-Go Car Wash on River Road, on March 1 from 2-6 p.m.
“Customers interested in donating will need to mention the fundraiser at the kiosk,” the release said. “DMD is progressive, meaning that Flynn’s condition will worsen over time. There is no cure for DMD, but there are therapy treatments to improve his current quality of life.”
The Pine View High School Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) club originally started the Mr. Pine View fundraiser 13 years ago assistance from school and district staff. In that time span, the Mr. PVHS fundraiser has earned over $250,000 to ease the burden of medical bills for families in the Washington County community.
