This event welcomes all pets whether they bark, meow, slither or scuttle. Participants can choose from a variety of distances: 10 kilometers, 5K or an almost 1-mile Fun Run Walk N’ Roll.

“It’s not just a run. It’s a joyful journey filled with paw prints, laughter and a shared love of pets,”Aaron Metler, recreation manager for races and events at the city of St. George, said in a news release. “A tail-wagging good time awaits. Join us for an unforgettable morning filled with fun experiences with our beloved pets.”

All ages are invited to celebrate the bond between humans and animals. Don’t have a pet? No problem. Pet-less participants can sport a costume of any creature and join in on this one-of-a-kind adventure that highlights the new Rainbow Bridge Pet Memorial, located in the Tonaquint Nature Center.

Registered participants will receive a shirt; their pets get bandanas. All finishers will take home a medal.

“We are capping this race at 150 participants and we are approaching that limit, so we encourage all who are interested to sign up today,” Metler added.

Tonaquint Park, located at 1851 S. Dixie Drive, is a lively park with plenty of shade, the news release said. The variety of features at this 33-acre community park includes eight tournament-quality tennis courts, two covered pavilions, picnic tables, barbecues, a shaded children’s playground, sand volleyball court, restrooms and the Tonaquint Nature Center — with loop walking trails that connect to the Santa Clara River Trail.
