Every week, Steve Smith, Lew Winter and Bill Loucks, aka “Billiam Dollar Bass,” could be found in the halls of a local coffee shop jamming and having fun working out songs together while waiting for their turn to play at open mic. And that’s how they met. Having a mutual love of the same timeless songs from the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s, they formed Mountain Meadow Music.

Drawing inspiration from such artists as James Taylor, John Denver, Carole King, Stevie Nicks, The Beatles, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Simon & Garfunkel and more, they now perform at festivals, events and venues throughout Southern Utah. They often find that their acoustic rock sound brings back nostalgic memories for both parents who bought these records and their children, who were raised listening to them.

The trio assembled at Cloud 9 Studios to perform two songs, Simon & Garfunkel’s “America” and an original song called “Crystal Blue.”

Mountain Meadow Music also runs a Facebook group highlighting musical artists and live performances in the greater St. George area.
