ST. GEORGE — According to the National Weather Service, fall is officially in Southern Utah as temperatures have dropped and a cold storm system is looming, possibly bringing snow to higher elevations. In addition, officials have issued a hazardous weather outlook starting today and going into next week for heavy precipitation.

St. George
Saturday
Mostly cloudy with a high of 67 and low of 50, with east northeast winds of 7-11 mph. There’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, picking up after 1 p.m.. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
Sunday
Partly sunny with a high of 64 and low of 58, with north winds of 10-13 mph. There’s a slight chance of showers and a thunderstorm after 1 p.m. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Cedar City
Saturday
Cloudy with a high of 53 and low of 38, with south winds of 8-10 mph. Showers and a thunderstorm are likely after noon, with a chance of precipitation at 80 percent.
Sunday
Cloudy with a high of 48 and low of 37 with north winds of 13-17 mph. Showers and a thunderstorm are possible after noon, with a 30 percent chance of precipitation.
Zion National Park/Springdale
Saturday
Mostly cloudy with a high of 58 and low of 41, with northeast winds of 9-15 mph. Showers and a thunderstorm are likely after noon, with a 80 percent chance of precipitation.
Sunday
Mostly cloudy with a high of 54 and low of 40, with north winds of 15-18 mph. There’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Lake Powell/Bullfrog Basin/Halls Crossing
ADVISORY: Lake Powell’s mussel infestation continues to worsen
Saturday
Mostly cloudy with a high of 68 and low of 51, with east northeast winds of 6-8 mph. There’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Sunday
Cloudy with a high of 60 and low of 48, with south southeast winds of 5-11 mph. There’s a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Weather warnings and advisories
A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for the western two thirds of Utah for the possibility of scattered showers, thunderstorms and snow showers Friday, while a colder storm system will bring widespread precipitation Saturday and Sunday, including snow levels as low as 7,000 feet.
Heavy precipitation can pose a threat to burn scars, mid-slopes and lower elevations. Southern and eastern Utah could see thunderstorms capable of moderate to heavy precipitation, bringing a threat of flash flooding.
