ST. GEORGE – Authorities have identified the person killed in the head-on collision on Red Hills Parkway Tuesday afternoon as 70-year-old Pamela Kingsley, of St. George.
The crash occurred around 4 p.m. when Kingsley apparently lost control of the pickup truck she was driving, St. George Police officer Tiffany Atkin said.
The pickup had been westbound on Red Hills Parkway when the driver over-corrected and the truck veered into the eastbound lanes where it collided with an oncoming work truck.
The collision caused the westbound pickup to flip over.

Kingsley died as a result of the crash while the two occupants in the eastbound truck were treated by paramedics at the scene and released, Atkin said.
Access to the 2-mile stretch of Red Hills Parkway between Skyline Drive and Bluff Street was blocked by police officers as investigators and other responders dealt with the scene. The roadway was reopened three hours later.
Factors surrounding the crash have not yet been determined and remains under investigation.
Ed. note: It was previously reported by a witness to the crash who has stopped to help had described the victim as a male who was pinned inside the flipped truck. As noted above, the police have since identified the victim as a woman.

Very sad. Condolences to the family and those involved. On a 2nd note, that’s why you should fact check before putting anything that a so called “witness” states. I’m sure at that time, it wasn’t too crucial to know if it was a male or female anyways, but not even witnesses can give accurate information sometimes. Do your first breaking news story then wait for real actual facts from someone very familar with the incident, like law/fire/EMS, then post your follow up. Drives me insane when news stations can’t just wait for the facts and go off of some random person like this “witness” whom probably came up on the scene after it happened and just sat there in the car not doing anything. Therefore, he/she had no idea what was going on, but thought it would be cool to be in a newspaper. But, it’s news! Might not be true but we better just go ahead and publish it anyways!
Fortunately the only fatality was the reckless driver.
This looks to be within 100 feet of the similar accident here a couple months ago. Wide lanes, nice median barrier, easy turn, incredible scenery. Let’s post flashing yellow lights?
