HURRICANE — The Hurricane Valley Choir is inviting new singers, high school age and adults, to join the choir. Rehearsals for the community choir’s winter session begin Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. in the Hurricane Community Center, 63 S. 100 West in Hurricane.
All interested singers are invited to participate. Singers should have some basic understanding of music with a desire to learn more. Each participant purchases their music (available at the rehearsals) for each concert session. Cost is $20.00.
Musical director for this session will be June Jeffery. Camille McCausland is the choir director and accompanist.
The choir enjoys singing a wide variety of choral literature. The winter concert focuses on Christmas music with a concert in December.
Weekly rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Hurricane Community Center.
About Hurricane Valley Choir
The choir was created in October 2007 by the Hurricane Valley Arts Alliance to offer the opportunity for area singers (high school-adult) to participate in a community choir. The premier performance was held Feb. 2, 2008, and was originally directed by Warren Larsen. Directors changed when Larsen moved out of the area.
For more information about the choir, please contact Camille McCausland by email or by telephone, 435-635-4339.
