ST. GEORGE — The Dixie Wing of the Air Force Junior ROTC is hosting a celebrity meet and greet and auction on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings in St. George, followed by a celebrity golf tournament on Saturday at The Ledges of St. George. Celebrities include actor Rick Ravanello; boxer Tony “The Tiger” Lopez; Devin Dixon, host of “The Drive” ESPN 106.1 FM; and record golfer Lynn “Capt’n Crush” Ray.
Celebrities
Rick Ravanello was in “Hart’s War” with Bruce Willis, “The Cave,” Hallmark movie “Garage Sale Mystery” and recently had television roles in “NCIS” and “Scorpion.”
“He loves the U.S. and attends our golf tournament yearly to support our youth,” Linda Elwell, booster in charge of the event, said of Ravanello. “We enjoy his sense of humor and the Cadets love to visit with him. You can check him out on the Internet.”
Tony “The Tiger” Lopez is a three-time world champion boxer with a tremendous sense of humor. Lopez enjoys St. George and has a villa in Mexico that he will donate at the auction for seven nights stay.
Lynn “Capt’n Crush” Ray is back with the event for the third time. He holds a Guinness World Record for hitting the most golf balls over 300 yards in one hour.
“Lynn helps us raise money on the golf course by having fun events,” Elwell said. “The golfers really enjoy him.”
Devin Dixon is the host of “The Drive” on ESPN 106.1 FM and is returning for the second time. Dixon will emcee and be the auctioneer for the meet and greet event.
“He does a great job, especially when he is auctioning off the celebrities to play with one of the teams in the tournament,” Elwell said. “It is especially funny when he is auctioning off himself.”
Celebrity meet and greet
Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 10 percent of all the lunch and dinner receipts on Friday to Air Force Junior ROTC Dixie Wing.
Seating is limited. Participants will meet celebrities and be able to participate in a live auction. All auction items must be paid for by cash or check and picked up the night of the auction. No credit cards will be accepted.
Auction items include:

- Three days at Eureka Casino and Resort
- Tuacahn tickets
- Gift certificates to local restaurants
- GCR Bridgestone gift certificates
- Artwork by Owl Woman
- Seven nights at the Lopez Villa in Mexico

Air Force Junior ROTC
Proceeds will benefit the young cadets for two summer leadership camps. For the 2015-2016 school year, there are 365 cadets from Washington County School District and Tuacahn High School in grades 9-12. The program is designed for both female and male cadets.
The Leadership Orientation Camp is held at Hidden Valley Ranch and is open to approximately 50 current and new cadets.
The Hill Air Force Summer Camp is for 25 current cadets and will be held during summer break.
“The entire Wing benefits from the Summer Camps because the Cadets that attend share the skills and values they learned with the Cadets that did not attend,” Elwell said.
Donations to the organization are tax deductible and can be made by check payable to Washington County School District Foundation and mailed to:
