Walk Washington County explores Ivins with Mayor Chris Hart

IVINS – With Mayor Chris Hart in attendance, the sixth Walk Washington County community health walk will be held this Saturday in Ivins.

The walk will began at 8 a.m. at Ivins City Park. Participants should dress appropriately, bring water and wear sunscreen. Carpooling is encouraged.

An ongoing part of Intermountain Healthcare Southwest Region at Dixie Regional Medical Center’s CareCentennial 100th anniversary celebration, Walk Washington County invites participants to explore the area while improving their health. Each month, a local city will host a walk that explores its unique history and natural beauty; walks vary in length and difficulty but can be completed by most people.

The program is well under way with five walks completed and hundreds of community members in attendance at each. Participants will receive a medallion for each walk they finish; those who attend all 12 will be eligible for a prize drawing to win a full medical fitness evaluation, including a personal health coach for one month through the Intermountain LiVe Well Center, among other prizes.
